The Supreme Court Decision was very clear. It is now for Parliament to reach a decision. The Prime Minister has made it clear that this must be on the basis of cross party support. Given that support exists at the moment, there is a chance that Parliament might reach a final decision before the next Election. However, this is a once in a generation decision with a great deal still to discuss. So it is also possible that it might spill over into the next Parliament. In the meantime I will continue to work with local residents to try and win the argument for better mitigation and compensation in our area.

Monday 27th January will mark the 69th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration and death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau, the site of the largest mass murder in history.
In the weeks leading up to and after Holocaust Memorial Day, thousands of commemorative events will be arranged by schools, faith groups and community organisations across the country, remembering all the victims of the Holocaust and subsequent genocides.
“Holocaust Memorial Day marks the anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration and death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau – and is an important opportunity to remember the victims and survivors of the Holocaust. I encourage all constituents in Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner to mark the day and to join members of my community in the fight against prejudice and intolerance.”
Karen Pollock MBE, Chief Executive of the Holocaust Educational Trust, said:
“We are proud that Nick is supporting Holocaust Memorial Day. It is vitally important that we both continue to remember and learn from the appalling events of the Holocaust – as well as ensuring that we continue to challenge antisemitism and all forms of bigotry.”

This is testimony to the residents of Northwood who united to say NO. The strength of the campaign helped me to get the attention of senior decision makers. We now need a proper conversation about what Northwood needs and we need to see the local shops treated fairly.
