Key Campaigns: More Visible Policing

Nick Hurd supports Safer Neighbourhood Teams

Having campaigned for more Police in the North of the Borough, Nick Hurd MP is delighted with the news that each ward in Ruislip-Northwood is to get a Safer Neighbourhood team in April 2006.

Each team will consist of one sergeant; two PCs; and three PCSOs. They will be dedicated to the ward and based in local premises.

Nick commented, “I have regularly represented the view that we need more visible and accessible neighbourhood policing in the constituency. That is exactly what Safer Neighbourhood Teams should deliver. I have been out on patrol with the South Ruislip team and seen at first hand what difference they have made. Crime down. Antisocial behaviour down. Confidence in the Police up. I am sure that the Community will give the new teams our full support.”
