Campaigns
Graffiti
Nick Hurd has called on Hillingdon Council to clampdown on the growing problem of graffiti in the Borough and a significant increase in the budget for graffiti removal.
Commenting on the campaign, Nick Hurd said "Nothing degrades a neighbourhood more than graffiti. Across Hillingdon, the problem has grown fivefold in recent years and residents I speak to have had enough. The problem may be localised at the moment but people want to see it controlled before it spreads out of control."
Nick has spent time talking to police and Council Officers about the challenges they face. Going around South Ruislip with police, he has seen at first hand the problem, including evidence of hard drug taking in garages taken over by local youths. He has developed a three point plan to clampdown on the problem.
- A committment to "Clear it all"
- A more visible police and parkwarden presence to deter and catch.
- Support of the Courts.
